Standing for Something

Fascism is a system of government where authoritarian rule is combined with an ultranationalistic perspective. Dissent and open speech is frowned upon all for the glory of the great leader and the motherland.

What most people don’t know is that it isn’t the military that is the main mover of the fascist movement, it’s actually a civilian force that’s behind it.

When Benito Mussolini created Fascism, an organized civilian militia of thugs called Blackshirts went around house to house and forced people to join them. They threatened and bullied and eventually killed people who would not be swayed to their cause. This was then repeated and magnified in Germany to horrible, horrible results.

When this election started, I thought we could make a difference where mature intelligent conversation would rule the day. I was wrong. This time the stakes are higher.

I know I said that I wouldn’t mentioning much about politics, but this had to be said. Evil triumphs when good men sit and do nothing about it. I will not let evil reign in my country. I am not going to sit down and let fascism take over.

Ako ay tumatayo para sa malayang Pilipinas.
